I was driving on the 215 going to work. My AC was working perfect and blowing cold.

Once I got to work, I heard a "clunk clank" and AC just went to crap...nothing but hot air. I pulled over and popped my hood open thinking something exploded in my engine bay but there was nothing I can visibly see.

I got home and checked the low side with a gauge and it was in the RED warning zone. Could it be my compressor or should I try to add more freon.

Do AP1 and AP2 have the same compressors or are they different?

That happened to mine it did a loud pop sound and it went bad and the compressor started to sound like tapping valves then to a ice grinder so i replaced it and flushed the system and now it works like new

 

The clutch completely broke off and thats what the "clunk" noise was. I got the lines evacuated and waiting for the new compressor to come in.
