Default Albertsons

So aside from Albertsons poor produce selection, crappy lighting and high prices. I've just had my last encounter with them. I was shopping for dinner when I noticed a meat sale of $4.99/lb for a bone in rib eye roast (yes a roast out of one of the tastiest cuts of meat) I walk up to the counter and after pleasantries the first question out of my mouth is "Do you cut meat to order" and she said "We sure do". So I thought great! I told her I wanted to buy the entire rib eye roast (approx. 9-10lbs), however, I wanted it cut into 1" slabs. At which point she refused and told me the rib eye steaks were around the corner on sale @ $6.99 a lb. She the proceeded to tell me some bullshit about how the butchers in the back make $20 an hour and she couldn't have them cut it and that's why steaks cost more. I was obviously dealing with someone who had no idea what she was talking about so said thank you and got a manager. The manager of course was gracious and competent thank god. We walked back to the Butcher section, where this ladie was there with a scowl on her face. The manager asked her to cut the meat, amidst protest she did as she was told and took it in the back to have the Butchers cut. The manager apologized and left. I stood there baffled as to how it took so much coercion to get this bitch to cut my meat, so she handed me the $40 in ribeyes that I was certainly about to buy, however, I handed it back to her and thanked her while standing there for 10 more minutes I had decided I would never support their company again on principal...zzzz

TL;DR

**** Albertsons, pass it on

Sounds to me like a training issue for both the employee and the manager. Instead of, or in addition to, pissing and moaning here you could write a letter to corporate telling them of your difficulty. While you're free to not shop there any longer as well, a well written letter to the right people will actually have the ability to effect change. Just ****** off may hurt them but they'll never know why you ****ed off.

But hey, wtf do I know. I just run a company for a living

Heh, I'm "pissing and moaning" here to afford people the opportunity to learn from my experience with Albertsons, in an attempt to stymie their bottom line. I'm relatively certain any communication with their corporate office will have less of an effect than if I can convince someone not to shop there
