Default CAI's

coming from Reno, our weather fluctuates a little more often than you Las Vegans down south.

My question is this...

I was thinking of purchasing the Injen CAI. I am aware that this is susceptible to hydrolock, but should this be a concern if we live in such a dry environment?

Also, does anyone in Vegas have this intake? I've had injen CAI's in previous vehicles and they sound absolutely amazing.

What do you think?

On the other hand, if I decided not to go with the CAI, what difference would it make if i were to purchase a snorkel? Are the gains noticible with the oem intake box?

It rarely rains out here, and it rarely floods out here.

A simple puddle shouldn't hurt your cai, but you shouldn't be trying to cross flooded streets whether you have a cai or not IMO

ok, i have an AP1 with the AEM v2, i even dremeled out the faux vent to get more airflow.. a couple months back we had the big torrential rainstorm... i drove through water that was 6-8 inches... and in my experience... it's REALLY hard to hydrolock the car. i had no adverse affects... granted i was NOT on the throttle at all...but for day to day use CAI's are pretty dependable.
