Gears Installation
Well, I am now beginning to think that I want to order the 4.57 gears. I am beginning to save up for a hardtop, but I am now thinking about buying go parts instead. I have my eye on the GB from Rick for the 4.57 gears. Ive heard from many people that they are loud, but I have also heard, that if they are installed CORRECTLY, they dont make nearly as much noise. Does anybody know any shop in town that might have the knowledge and experience to install them correctly? Thanks a lot!

Two suggestions:
1) any shops in town do lots of work on NSX's? still honda, still rwd, might be some similarities
2) find a muscle car and/or truck shop. they should be used to gear installs, shimming, setting lash, etc. properly.

I spoke with Factor-X and they dont have time to install anything for 3-4 months!
However, I got the name of a shop that is good at doing it. Has anybody ever heard of "Import Auto-Pros"? I am going to call them today to see how confident they would be in doing the installation. I also want to purchase the Comptech reinforced diff. Im gonna do some studying this weekend!

The muscle-car shop is a good tip. THose guys are more likely to know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to rear diff gear swaps than ANY import shop. That stuff just doesn't exist in the import world for the most part with very few exceptions. Find a Mustang or GM F-body (Camaro, Firebird) shop and you might do better than the gee-whiz import tuners.

I was suggested to call Wally's. Does anybody else think that he is capable of the installation? Thanks for all the help. I was hoping you would help JP.

Hmm, interesting. Find a different muscle car shop
I don't know anything but what I've heard about Wally's and they seem to be a competent place. Ray and Kam both use him so that's a good recommendation. Give them a call and ask, can't hurt. It's a good shop, I just don't have any idea if he has the experience to deal with a RWD diff.
