Default Heading to Vegas on Thursday

I'm heading to Las Vegas this Thursday for about 7 days, doing a shoot at LVMS for ESPN Saturday and I thought I'd take a few days vacation. I'm also planning on getting a better tour of the Nevada desert and Death Valley than I had last year (was kinda rushed).

Any suggestions on things to check out? Any SCCA Club racing going on somewhere on Sunday? What's happening at Spring Mountain Motorsports ranch?

I understand there's some old ghost towns in the northern part of Death Valley, thought I'd check those out. Anyone know where I can rent a dirt bike and go crusing through the desert?

I may also take a trip into Phoenix since I'm told it's only about 4hrs from Vegas.

Any ideas on cool things to do (and I don't mean prostitutes ) , pass them on.

Thanks,

Warren

B-More representin' I grew up in Ovelea and Parkville and spent much time in Towson and Perry Hall. Moved away in '99. I sure don't miss the humidity and snow! Welcome to Vegas!

Thanks Scoob. Got out here this morning, bout 10:30. Damn, I'm loving the heat w/o humidity! I'm is Littlefield, AZ as I write this (on my way to the Grand Canyon) and coming up here it was 109 but it felt like 85. Just beatuful!

Did you go to TSU?

Nope. I went to CCBC Essex and then went to Frostburg State after that. Now 6 years later, I'm going to back school at UNLV. Who woulda thunk?

People back East just don't believe the whole "dry heat" thang. I tell ya, I'll take 110F in Vegas any day over 90F in Baltimore.

Hell YES. I visited a friend of mine in Virginia a few years back during August, and I thought I was going to die.
