Default Out of state gun question.

Quick question. I am coming down from Arizona for about a week and I would like to take my gun since I will be driving around a lot checking out some areas out of Vegas.

In AZ you can open carry anywhere pretty much. Can you do the same there? I am not trying to conceal and I have no problem having my gun showing in my front seat.

Anyone have any info? I read around but can't get a solid answer.

Thanks!

NV is an open carry state. But, you tend to scare people that are not aware. So, they call the police if they can see your gun. Just make sure it's registered. And, if you plan on going out on the town, you can't drink and carry.

It is legal to carry it in your car. In Las Vegas City/County, it is also OK to place it in your glove box. I don't believe that is the case for North Las Vegas, or Henderson. There, you may have to have it on your body/holstered in plain view.

Don't take it to any schools or parks. If you are on private property and they ask you to leave, you would have to comply.

Some advice, don't leave it in your car unattended - but you already knew that.

^^So if I don't want to leave it in my car can I just throw it in my backpack and take it into my room at the casino?

A backpack would be considered a concealed firearm, since you can carry it around with you (like a purse). If you have it in your luggage or even a gun case, that would be different.

If you put it in your backpack just to carry it through the hotel to get to your room, most people wouldn't know. But, it's not quite legal, so I couldn't tell you to do that.

Yeah I wanted to carry it from my car to my room in a backpack..No intent to walk around the strip with it.

For the past year or so, our Metro police had their MO's changed in regards to open carry. They are more tolerant now.

Yeah..... F*&K registering your guns. Shit pisses me off. Mine arent registered.

"When you register your guns, your name and address is put into a national database that can be used by the authorities when it comes time to confiscate your weapons. If the American people want to remain free, they must resist all attempts to register their guns."
