Fwiw I dig the G35 coupe, it's the sedan that does nothing for me. The exterior styling is rather bleh (personal prefrence yes)

I'll admit the IS and the 3 series aren't the fastest sedans but when I get a 4 door it's going to be used mainly as a cruiser so things like 0-60 and skidpad numbers matter a little bit less to me than they normally would. I already have a 2 door sports car when I want to drive fast, and its not pissing oil all over the place
Seriously, I had no idea how much the new IS was. I thought it maxed out at 40k. Not starting at 39k. That is a little ridiculous when you could get the first IS300 for around 30k. Yes the new one is much nicer, but not 15k nicer.

If I ever want a cruiser, I am so going with a huge Cadillac.

Everything has gone up in price. Even the S2k. The G35 went up a ton also. It's a bunch of crap.

My buddy got a brand new IS350 a few months ago for about $37k out the door.

You seem bitter about something Kevin? I was just thinking how I hadn't seen you on the boards lately.
Not bitter at all. I just see on every board everyone talking about the IS as some sort of super sedan. There is nothing that cool to it.

Also, I didn't like the whole "Skyline-duplicate" crap. It's an Infiniti G35 Coupe. Not a Nissan Skyline. I could care less what it is called in a country 10,000 miles away.

[QUOTE=LSHatch,Sep 8 2006, 07:36 AM] Yeah, having a Toyota or an overpriced German car in your garage is much better.

Plus, most people who buy these kind of cars care more about the badge and whether they like it or not, rather than the window sticker no? They can get the same stuff for a ES350 on the Camry.
My car could have had a Hyundai badge on it, it would have been the same to me.

Most people, Yes.

I am rational and would take the Camry over the ES. I think it looks better and it's what, 10k cheaper?

Indeed it is. I agree with you on this one, I'd take a loaded Camry V6 XLE (wait why would we need a V6 in a Camry?) over the ES350.

You know...when your Camry needs to accelerate out of a trouble spot...so uh...Safety first! I have a 1992 Camry LE 4 cyl(first year of the long line of "round bodies")..it is hitting 100k soon
