Curious, but at what point would the "underground" its self be considered Mainstream? I mean Look at the Gothic scene, it went from being "underground" to being Fashion sold at Trendy Malls (Teen Angst is profitable, just look at Hot Topic). Or perhaps the whole concept of an "underground scene" is simply a social elitest thing. That " I'm cooler/better then you because I reject the mainstream" concept.

Just some thoughts.
