Wheel repair - curb rash
Hello.
One of our gold Advans had a run in with a curb, and needs some repair. The damage appears to be only curb rash, no apparent bend. Can anyone recommend a top notch wheel repair/refinish shop here locally?
Thanks a bunch!!

I don't have any personal experience with them, but I've heard good things about "Hubcap Annies" they're all over town.....gl

So I got referrals from Glaudin Porsche (Custom Caliper) and the Acura dealer (Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist), I ended up having AWRS attempt the fix. More or less because they were available when I was available.
I ended up meeting them behind an abandon dealership on West Sahara. They seem to do most of the wheel repair work for the dealerships along that West Sahara strip.
After looking at the wheel, the rash was going to be no problem. The paint ... they have a paint that is a supposed match for the Subaru BBS Gold. We put the paint chip up along the wheel, and it looked just a touch darker than the Advan gold. So we discussed options, which were, use the BBS gold as is, try to mix the gold with white or silver to try to get a better match, or not fix it. I decided to let them go for it, and try to mix something to match.
So the tech tried both white and silver and went with the silver mix. He fixed the rash, no issue. Then he prepped and painted the entire outer edge/lip with the paint mixture.
I'll be honest, I was sick to my stomach during this process. However the result is pretty spot on. I've checked the work and paint match with fluorescent, LED and halogen lighting. I can't tell it was even damaged let alone damaged and fixed. It's cloudy today, so I don't know what the sun will reveal, however, even if there is a slight variation, it's going to be slight.
Obviously it's not an exact match in the strict sense, but definitely satisfied with the work.
So bottom line, Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist gets a thumbs up for wheel rash fixes from me. Plus they have a paint that seems to match the Subaru BBS Gold for all those owners. Since they are mobile, I don't think I would use them for anything worse than curb rash, but otherwise
Regards.
