When I was in Japan they had a 100% tax on imports. That would make a $30k Mustang $60k before any other mark-up and taxes.
This was quite a few years ago so things may be different now.

All the cars within my price/year/mileage are in NY/NJ. 06/07 with less than 25000 miles at <24000.
Did anyone make a long-distance purchase? Do you negotiate the price before or after you go test drive the car?

I am debating whether I should wait until prices drop a bit more (w/ all the recession projections etc causing less people willfing to spend $$ on a two seater), or make a move before spring comes around the corner with potential more buyers.
Any thoughts?

 

dude, ny/nj is a cakewalk drive... i bought my car from immke a month ago, and drove 600 miles home. i actually got it for less then 26k, if you include the extras that got thrown in. totally worth a day of my time. pm me, i can walk you through it. oh, and immke has one yellow 07 left....

 

When I was at a local Honda dealer in western MA I have heard about a MY06 in with supposedly 1200 miles for 26K to 25.5K. It is supposed to be Laguna Blue. If I didn't already have an 04, I would of considered it. I love the blue. Good Luck.

 

Yeah, I just started actively look around the websites around the town. I went to test drive one 2 days ago, but the manager was out and the sales guy couldn't take the car out b/c it was in the show room.

I am currently willing to spend 24000 max. So, prolly the 07 you mentioned is out of the price range.

I found a 07 with less than 8000miles on for sale for 23500. Is it too good to be true?
Question; what are the things I should carefully look for when I test drive an S2k other than the obvious cosmetic appearances?
