Wow, that is crazy. How do they do that? Jerry, just google 2012 Boss Mustang and you will get the link to the page. It has very little in the way of details, but in broad strokes the HP goes up to 440 (with a small loss of torque) at 7500 rpm. Six speed, special shocks, springs and sway bar, chassis stiffener, Brembo brakes, gauge package, some ground effects, limited slip diff or optional Thorsen diff, special wheels and tires and lowered. Then they have the Laguna Seca version which deletes the back seat and adds a frame stiffener.

If you want a dual purpose street and track car for a low cost, this looks like it. I still wish it had an independent rear end.

it's odd, can view the rest of the ford site but this one link only comes up with the ford standard top tool bar.
ok even weirder, wouldn't work in ie 8 window either.
popped open chrome and now it works in both.
must've been some weird network cache issue.

I can see why they didn't include the front splitter as part of the street version.
It's not exactly pedestrian friendly.

it's too bad you couldn't reapply the stripes after a heat gun removal.

I'm betting if there are going to be a limited number of laguna seca versions that dealers will be stupid enough to rape for them, waiting list, additional dealer markup, the whole nine yards.

is the boss the same as the Laguna Seca Edition? I saw it on Fast Lane Daily.

Also I think the graphics legitimizes the stang as a Boss302

I always look at the value of the mods when I see these special editions.

What are we fighting? 40,000+ for a boss and the dealer adding a few g's for themselves?

Base GT with 3.73 rear, brembos, 19 inch wheels MSRP $32,500.

Ford Racing Handling pack, dampers, springs, urethane bushings, roll bars, strut tower bar $1300.00
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/M...g-Handling-Pack

Ford Racing Power pack-Mufflers, airfilter, oil filter, and engine management software...600.00
"This Power Upgrade Package increases peak power on average by 16 hp & 7 lb-ft torque on 93 octane pump gas with up to a whopping 60 lb-ft torque increase at 1500 rpm! Plus, the included ProCal calibration eliminates the "skip-shift" on manual transmission applications."

SO...a GT with 3.73, brembos, 19 inch wheels, upgraded suspension, exhaust and some engine management bringing you up to about:
$34,500
No stickers, paint, splitter, your imagination to reduce some weight and $5,500 left for cardboard, tape and spray paint to make your own splitter and wing!!

FYI....a 7PSI supercharger (Ford Racing) will get you to 525HP and 470 LB/ft.-skip the Power Pack and you are at $41,000....

Not sure about that...last night on ther Barrett jackson they had a one off special Laguna Seca edition Boss 302. They said it topped out at 155. The AP1 is listed as topping at 154. The car sold for about $450-500K with evertything above retail goting to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

The 2011 Base GT is being compared to the latest, greatest M3.

As sweet as the S2000 is...it will have it's ass handed to it by these new Mustangs.

Have you ever tried to top out your S2000? Pack a lunch. You'll be at it for a while.

Jeff, the Boss puts out 444 HP at 7500RPM. Does that mod you list do the same thing?

The price of the Boss is guestimated at $36K by C&D and topping out at $40K for the Laguna Seca version with the Thorsen diff.

it's torsen bill as in torque sensing.
it's an unusual diff in that it shifts power to the higher torque load.
standard open diff's push to the lowest torque load.
a locker diff will make both equal.
torsen were big when developed in racing becuase you can totally lose a drive shaft and keep the car straight.
