Default Alpine amp & Alpine Sub install

So, I added a Sony headunit and Alpine Type R 6.5 100 RMS door speakers last week but didn't find it loud enough when highway cruising with top and window down. So this weekend, I'm looking to add an Alpine 70 watts x 4 amp and an Alpine 200 RMS sub. I was just wondering if I should trust the Tweeter/Bestbuy guys to do the job and if not, what are my alternatives?

Installing the stuff yourself is probably the best way to go if you can find someone who knows how to do the wiring...it's pretty simple. That way, you know your car's interior and stuff are treated w/ care.

Otherwise, I know a couple of people who have used Tweeter w/ great results...Circuit City as well, I don't have any input for Best Buy.

I know there are a couple of guys on this forum who have done some pretty amazing stuff on their radios themselves...so those that have the time I'm sure will chime in.

If not, anytime you're in the Leominster area (probably 40 mins from Brighton) I'll give you a hand. I've installed basic amp/sub stuff on my car so I know how it comes apart w/o any broken panels!!!

This subject has been discussed before. ALthough some places like a Best Buy or Circut City may have a well experienced installer, many are marginal. You may get a great job done in one place on Tuesday, but Saturday is the new kids first day on the job.

Consider your install may be done by a 19 year old part time worker who likely has never touched an S before.

It may cost a little more but get some recomendations for a specific place and installer.

I woudnt recommend CC in portsmouth anymore. The good installers there were Dan, Mark, and Jonas. All have left CC and they only have teenagers working there now. Wouldnt trust em with my S.

My personal recomendation from 8 years working in a stereo install shop to NEVER go to those big chain stores. They go out of business all the time. The installers are getting paid CRAP and just get the job done fast as they can to get on to the next job.

Find a local shop that has been around for more than 5 years. If they have lasted 5 years or more they ar probably not going anywhere. The shop I worked at has been around since 1979! Yeah a couple years.

It might cost a few more bucks to get a smaller shop to do it but if they do it right the first time and don't mess up your car...........you save BIG TIME!
