So my son (who is not mechanically inclined) called me at lunch today. He wanted to know if Rick could head to his house after work and deal with a clogged sink and a leaky pipe (which started to leak because he messed around with it). I thought about it for all of 10 seconds and told him I'd call our plumber and pay the bill, Happy Anniversary, kid.

Rick HATES plumbing work, is not that good at it, and I KNOW he would not want to deal with it tonight, never mind on July 4th. With those jobs, they never seem to go as planned, and I know I didn't want to run around to a hardware store tonight, or look for one tomorrow if parts were needed.

This "gift" (sink snaked, section of pipe replaced) was delivered to our son and his wife in a prompt manner by our plumber and I'm pleased to say the "gift" got the stamp of approval from Rick.

So, have you given any unusual gifts lately?

oh and i plan to give erick the gift of herpes on the mouth this weekend

ya i don't see how people can't be mechanically inclined -

my brother in law is the same way - he doesn't know what end of a screw driver to use so my dad have to fix all their stuff..

me i say screw that - he should learn. i always try to fix stuff so i can save $$$ and if i don't know - i'll call someone who does and ask them for help most people owe me a few favors anyway

 

That's what he does! He calls us, and we call the plumber.
