Yep , I am setting up a new computer at the shop as the old server died and killed all my Quick Books files ( F'n windows PCs ) . I have to send the drive out now for recovery ... will cost about $800

Anyone here in the data recovery biz ?


New Machine is nice though and makes me learn Windows 7 as I am going to keep the Mac for all my other things . I was a good boy this time and installed a UPS and multiple back up drives

Man if I knew you didn't have a backup drive and UPS I would have slapped you upside the head! Hopefully they will get your data back.

Then again if you run Mac it has timemachine which tells you when to backup and does a great job of it!

We have that running on our iMac.

Which is a good thing, because despite it being only 15 months old, the Apple diagnostic says the hard drive is starting to fail. I ran it because I couldn't figure out the intermittent lag problems it was having. Now we're just waiting for it to happen, and because it's out of warranty, I'm going to replace it myself. And I have to take the screen out to do it.

Yay.

I had a backup drive , just someone changed the save location of the file .. most likely my accountant .
