I was hoping for a warmer winter to make up for this summer.

Pellet stoves are great so long as you have power. Remember last winter's ice storm?

yah we only lost power for 2 days, living in a somewhat civilized area has its bonusus, plus its not like we get ice storms like that every year, maybe one every 20 years. Im not gonna deal with the hassel of wood for the slight chance of loosing power. ill get a HOtel

If this weather track keeps up we're f'd...

We got 6" of rain Friday night in like an hour and a half.
Doesn't 1" of rain = 1' of snow? So that would've been 6' of snow!
Can't imagine getting and figuring where to put 6' of snowfall every other day...
that would be AHmazing, i was thinking about if all the rain we got in june was in february, talk about a snow lovers dream!

well the good news is cold air can't support that much moisture ( part of the reason it rains.)

so the winter air gets wrung out well before it gets here usually....

the exception is a really good nor'easter with a tropical fetch dragging moisture up over the ocean and then mixing with really cold air over land.
can you say blizzard of '78???
