lets be honest... the beauty of hotspots like panera and starbucks is to use the internet

AND if you have a wifi system at home, people can sniff your traffic.

1- Stop using free email services.
2- Use encrypted wireless networks if possible, if not, assume anything you're sending out is visible by others.

You don't send your snail-mail in open envelopes, right? So, why not protect your e-mail as well ?
