Default Audi?

Hey what are your thoughts on the new S4 Cabriolet? I went yesterday and looked at A4 wagons with the wife and the new S4 caught my attention. AWD 340 hp V8 and still a convertible. I also sat in a Porsche Caymen, not liking it. Love the looks but way too small seats and bad blind spots.

I like the S4, but not the cabriolet version. I was looking at one in the dealership the other day. Looks like a bathtub when open.

I've owned the B5 twin turbo and b6 avant V8 and loved em both, very different cars than our little critters, but great nonetheless. i fyou have any quesitons, I'm more than happy to help. I've owned 6 audi's and love em. but the S2k is much more fun '

I think the Audi cab is fugly. It's also a heavy car. Go drive it and see if you like it, but coming from an S2000, I don't think you will unless you really just want a cruiser. I feel like my B5 A4 is a boat compared to my S. It's faster, has 4 pot porche brakes, aftermarket sways, suspension etc, but the S would still rape it in any autoX/track even. I would look at the BMW convertibles over the audis.

Beautiful cars, gorgeous interiors, wouldn't touch a Audi/VW with a ten foot pole... I don't have that kind of cake to keep them running.

Never quite understood the S4 cabriolet. I guess if you need one car to do everything it makes sense but it's a real boat. The S4 sedan and avant are completely different and make more "sense" to me. I was on the fence about an S4 for quite some time and drove a whole bunch of them, fast and AWD but the gearbox is garbage and the clutch is from another planet. Since I have the S2k for nice weather, I decided on the A4 3.0 ultrasport over the S4 and have been very happy. Drive the Boxster S if you want a replacement for the S2k. Great clutch, gearbox, handling and torque! The Caymen is a hard sell without a sunroof for me, even if handling is better than the Boxster. Actually, the Boxster S is a bargain when you consider it now has the same engine as the Caymen and costs about $6,000 less (instead of $6,000 more for a convertible vs hardtop). Just a thought. Hiro
