I changed the spot to Brenton Point State Park because there are grills and tables there and it is only a little bit farther down the road.
Ok directions: From the North take I95 south to route 4 south (exit 9 a left hand exit) about 10 miles to route 138 east to the bridges(Newport bridge is a toll $2.00 dollars).
After crossing the bridge take the first exit 238S scenic Newport at the end of ramp go right and strait threw the light. At second light take a right (onto Americas cup ave) stay strait, and at the seventh(7) light go right onto Thames street. (This is a narrow one lane road). Go approx. 0.4 to 0.5 tenth of a mile take right on to Wellington ave. (there is a shell gas station directly across Wellington ave).
Follow Wellington until you come to a stop sign, then go right at onto Harrison. At the next stop sign go right again and just stay on that road, (you will pass Fort Adams) the road will slit twice more just stay right. After the second split the road will take a sharp left onto ocean ave and the park is just up the street on the left.
NOTE: there are signs along the way pointing on how to get to ocean ave so heads up. If you want a map check out mapquest.com type in ocean ave Newport RI and click on Brenton Point state park.
From south take I95 north to 138 east (exit 3A) follow approx. 20 min until you get to route one(1), go north on route 1, 1.5 miles and take the Newport bridge exit. The rest is the same.
I will have a tent to bring, as far as food&drink I will bring burgers and buns and some stuff to drink if anybody wants to volunteer to bring anything else please PM me and tell me know. It is a really nice area I would like to see everybody there I have a nice drive lined up to. This is not just a members either is for anybody with a S2000 that wants to come in fact I'm encouraging more owners to show and I will see you there. If anyone has any questions don't hesitate to ask..
