Default Because racecar

So I started to get my S ready for the track but realized that I would never be able to bring myself to take it to the track and treat it like crap! So I was browing the for sale forums a couple months ago and found a kid fairly local trying to sell his neglected 2000 S2000 so I picked it up for cheap money. I realized quickly that parts get expensive so I asked a good friend and fellow S2ki member if he wanted to go in on the bulls with me, luckily he was willing because he doesn't want to ruin his S2K either! That member we all know as dibi!

Some great mechanic from NH already insatlled a low mileage 2.2 motor from a 2005, Thanks Scott!!! I finally had some time to start working on it today, as it needs alot of work! But will be a fun project and can't wait to get it to the track.

I am going to update this thread as much as I can when I work on the car.

Today I gutted the majority of the interior because it's been sitting outside for a good period of time and some of the interior carpet had gotten wet and started to smell pretty bad. If anyone needs any interior pieces send me a PM.

It was pretty easy getting the rear tray out after cutting away the soft top!

Funny thing is I told dibi on here when he was spending all that money on his car and then wanted to track it to buy a beater s2k. Haha I guess he did.

Why do you assume that a car going to the track gets treated like crap? I find it to be the opposite. Track people care about safety and performance, so their cars get more safety maintenance than daily drivers! I would also disagree that the car is at higher risk on the track, you're only at the risk level you drive at!

Anyways, good luck with the build. I'd love to see more locals on the tracks.

I saw this car at ballistic the other day when we picked up Mattys s! And figured I'd check out Brian's new setup! This thing made me cry at first but once I stepped back and looked at it, it seemed like a good find! Great candidate for a weld in cage (something I'd never do to my own car).

We will be seeing you up at nhms next year if you two go with the bimmer scda group like we will be!

With a rollbar installed you guys can run with COM at NHMS, Watkins Glen, Summit Point and a couple of canadian tracks. Driver's school one day, time trials the next. Checkout comscc.org
