Default Best winter floor mats?

I've been looking for a good fitting all weather rubber floor mat for the S....

Anybody got any suggestions? The only one I've been able to find is Weathertech, but I heard on the main forum that they don't fit very well......

Thanks....

I have the Weathertechs and they do fit poorly. I trimmed mine with a razor cutter and now they are a little better, but I would still have a hard time recommending them. I was looking into this last year and it seems there aren't many options. There are always the full length carpeted mats but they are pretty expensive for winter mats. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Rob,

Do they fit so poorly as to interfere with the pedals or allow slush/sand to get down to the original carpet?

Thanks,

Lance

Lance,
About the mats, they are really big and do cover the entire floor area. They don't lay flat, and therefore don't look that hot, but the carpet will be protected. The main problem is the support bars on the floor pan. The mats don't get in the way of the pedals except for about an inch and a half I had to trim from under the gas pedal. I could try and get some pictures of them installed this weekend if you would like. I don't drive the car in the snow, so I can't comment on that aspect, but I find they do a good job of keeping all the sand and salt and other junk out of the car on those days that I do drive it.

Thanks for all the info, Rob. They way you descibed them is pretty much how I pictured them- with the cross bars causing the problem. Protection is my main concern, and it sounds like they're about my only choice.

Thanks again,

Lance

I use the kind of floor mats that come with another car to drive in the winter, and just leave the stock ones in the S in the garage...

Kind Regards, Chris

After driving my s2k thru two winters I don't see any wear or permanent stains on my stock floor mats. I don't like the rubber mats cause I want the mat to absorb the water off my shoes so I don't slip my shoes off the pedals.
