Bill and I are looking for input on the Roster.....
As an FYI...the current S2KI roster is composed of every screen name that has been assigned a "New England" (lighthouse) badge.

keep it as is... the roster is for the people that are badge whores like me.
you.
I have used the roster, but only to check for the correct spelling of a member name to send a PM. How updated it is doesn't bother me either way. The Vintage one shows a TON of members, (500+) and I know most of them aren't active.
Folks like JT like their badges, and are still active on the web site, so we don't want to upset those badge collectors by removing their badges....
If you want to clean up the roster, I have one suggestion. It likely would be time consuming. You could check the members' history for the last post on the web site. If they haven't posted in two years or more, chances are they aren't coming back. IMHO, these people could be removed from the roster.
If they do sign on and notice they are missing a badge, all they have to to is ask for one.

How about you make a post and ask all those who want off the roster to post and say so. Hey, you made an effort but will clearly result in minimal work.

I like your idea very much, and when I take upon this task for Upstate I will use this idea plus a couple tweaks.
I would give the thread a clearly defined start and end date. You need to give the thread a cut-off date, because I know the roster has names on it for people who are no longer active , therefore waiting for them to reply would be a long wait. If a person is active they should clearly be able to reply within a month.
In addition I would make it clear that no chatting was going to take place in the thread, and if it happens then the CO will delete/edit thoases posts because the objective is to just see a reply from all those members still involved in the forum.
