cape cod / martha's vineyard suggestions needed.
my girlfriend and i want to take a 2-3 day trip to martha's vineyard / cape cod during the middle of the week next week.
can someone please recommend some towns in cape cod to stay at? or even martha's vineyard? i was thinking about staying at simmons homestead inn cuz it looks like the owner is a car buff.. anyone ever stay here in hyannis port?
what's there to do up there? ive been to martha's vineyard once.. stayed in oak bluffs and stuff.. rented scooters.. but i cant remember if we were allowed to bring cars up there.
if someone could help me, i'd greatly appreciate it!
thanks!

Hey Brian!
I'm going to copy this thread into the New England Forum...
I know someone there can definitly help you out!
Have fun! And if you have a free day... get in touch with me... and I will see if a few of the New England folks can meet up with you... but then again...
You might not have the free time!

Stay in Edgar town..it is a fun town..and you are allowed to drink. Some towns on Martha's Vineyard are not wet. Also any hotel you get is good..as it will be hard to find a place this late, and anything will be expensive as hell anyway.
Dont expect to be cruising to much in your car. The island is small and you will be more likely to park in Edgar town and walk or bike to different places.
Got married there 3 years ago..great place.

My sister lives there and my wife and I go there constantly. I agree on Edgartown, it is the nicest area and I wouldn't bother with a car. rent bikes for local travel and use Taxi's for trips to Vineyard Haven Oak Bluffs. Make SURE you take one night and go to Memnepsha for the sunset, there is also a great take out seafood place right there, and you can eat on the beach. Try to make it out to the Gayhead Lighthouse (yes, it;s called Gayhead).
