Default Cape Cod run

CAPE COD RUN

Sandwich to Provincetown, Massachusetts

April 9th - 9:00 am

Via: Barnstable, Cummaquid, Dennis, Orleans, Chatham

Ride Highlights: A short, even-keeled ride through old whaling communities and Colonial villages. Few rises and falls along Route 6A, but you'll find serenity and history in abundance.

Ride Overview: As you skirt along the shores and marshes of Boston Bay, past a collection of Cape Cod communities, the road less traveled swings into a gentle curve, rises over a bridge and delivers you into an anachronism. On this 80-mile scenic sojourn, you'll visit Colonial villages such as Sandwich, Barnstable, Dennis and Cummaquid where there are theaters, potters, antique shops, pubs and historical points of interest. A few miles south of Route 6A is Hyannis and Woods Hole where ferry links can take riders and their cars to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. The routes are short, straight, calming and quiet. Sometimes this is just the right pace for a laid back ride.

let's see if Bob, Bob, and Bill know of any twisties to add to the run BUT 6a is a slower road so this ride can be considered more of a scenic run than a full out race (which is good for Thomas)

I fugure we can meet at our normal spot and gas up - take 6a down to P-town and have luch and enjoy the sights (P-town is beautiful) and come back via 6...

more details to follow and i'll see if i can post up a map

who's coming?

Can't believe the group finally has a run in my own back yard and I can't do it. Bob III doesn't get his permit till 4-19-05 so he's out too. I'll be home recouperating after some sinus surgery on 4-7-05.
Sorry guys was looking forward to seeing you all again.
Bob & I cleaned the S last weekend and had a short but spirited top down drive first one of the year. Can't wait.

Steve,
Twisties around 6A are difficult but not impossible to come up with. LegalBill knows the area well too!. Pavement down here took a beating this year from the plows after the "Winter from Hell" I still have over two feet of snow alongside my driveway and there are still piles at intersections 6 feet deep, with more on the way tonight.

I did pass the exam and will get promoted in about 2 years, unless we push a bunch of people down a flight of stairs every month, then maybe sooner!

I'll do some mapping this weekend if work doesn't get in the way.

Bob
