Default clutch replacement

Looking for a trusted mechanic or shop that can do a clutch job around the Stratford, Bridgeport area in Connecticut. Already have the oem kit sitting in my room been hunting for a decent price. All the shops around here have been quoting me 700-800 just for labor with or without a flywheel resurface which is another 100, not sure if this is the normal pricing around here.

It's about right. If you feel like taking a drive out to Long Island you can go see Billman. It's a big job! You have to pull down the entire transmission to get to the fly and is only a few steps short of pulling the entire engine.

Personally I would be torn between Billman in LI and Ballistic Motorsports in Bow, NH. Both 3-4 hours away but are both TRUSTED S2000 specific mechanics.

With the tools and equipment I have now........I would just do it myself but aside from that see those guys.

I'm not sure on the pricing for Billman but Ballistic Motorsports has VERY reasonable pricing.

Thanks ,

I can do them in my sleep. We get $500 for clutch installs $50 to have the flywheel turned.

Actually it's about the same!(I have done both)...........And probably less if you factor in no traffic up north. For the difference in price I say take the road trip! You will probably drop about 75 bucks in gas/tolls.

I'll be doing mine next week end in my garage. I live in Bridgeport if you want to stop by and see how it goes you're more than welcome to. First time doing a clutch on the S but my friend is coming down to help and he has done a few.

And I'd go to NH. Much better roads up there than passing through NY IMO.
