Default Compression and Leak down test

Anybody in CT have these things that we can test on my car.

I have 96K and still does just fine but if there is a concern I want to catch it early and get her better for next summer.

Jim, great stuff! Wanna see you roll 100K on that baby! Keep us posted. You've always been stock except for CAI, right? Other than the spark plug problem, you've been right as rain all along, right?

You should be fine!

I have had much more than that on the car! Nothing FI. All NA stuff.

I have had CIA's, Mugen headers, Spoon Exhaust, VFAC.(probably more but I can't remember right now)

What I have now is a bored TB, Test Pipe, and 4.77 gears, Mugen radiator cap and thermostat. I hope to soon pickup a Mugen ECU.

Problems? Blew up one diff, spark plug coil fried!, spark plug bottom got knocked off somehow, and the inner CV joint on the drivers side went and is going again for a 2nd time. Oh and had a bearing in the right rear go so I just replaced the hub and all. Then there was the timing chain replacement 2x but it's better now. Easy fix!

That's the short and skinny on my S2000's life.

Jim, call Mel at Village Garage (860) 677-6053. He has all that stuff and he'll get you through emissions if you want. Next time you're in the area make an appointment. As a reminder say my name and he'll cut you a deal.

Did a test. High as 210 low of 180 but that's on a cylinder that had a spark plug strip out of it's hole. Cost only $25 bucks for some piece of mind.

Twizded says it's on the lower side of average but is still within range of "normal".

That is a pretty big range. Did scott give a reason why the cy with the replaced spark plug thread is so low? R u loosing compression because you don't have a good seal with the rethreaded spark plug. Just wondering.

Jim,

Glad you're still driving the S and keeping it in good shape. SOrry I missed you on Saturday. Hope you're doing well and the family is fine.

Just had my S ("Neb") into Scott's last week and my compression is fine. He tested that as part of my valve adjustment. The car's running great and ready for another 100K. I'm going to have to get my camera to take a picture when the odo runs over 100K in 800 miles or so!!!

Best wishes.
