Default Congrats Erick!

Erick got himself a new beater/daily driver.

Not bad at all! Congrats Erick. I never would have guessed that is what you ended up with. sch01/Dave's pic/post in another thread just went over my head....

Erick is now a member of the RED German car club!

Nope... the Civic is gone. Now I have to figure out how to make the Mini work during the winter.

Erick let me go for a spin in it and I'm impressed. I'd driven a standard "S" trim Mini Cooper previously (supercharged version, not turbo) and wasn't impressed. Still not enough power so the only thing going for it was the car's quirky appearance.

However.... Erick's new JCW Mini is nutty. Drove it in "sport mode" and basically when you get on the throttle it feels more like an S2000 pre-rev'd to 4k RPM, except you're at 1k RPM and climbing. There's just immediate power on demand. Handling, steering, and throttle are all super sharp. Really loved the way it burbled and popped after letting off the throttle. My only complaint about it was that the brakes are a little TOO aggressive for my taste. Very very very grabby. They take some getting used it.

Overall Huge, fun to drive factor in this car.

Not to worry. We're not too bright here. It went over my head and I think a few others.
