Default In-dash receivers

I'm looking for a new head unit for my son's '96 Integra for a Christmas present. I want to get him a unit that has the ipod usb connection and iPod controls, plus bluetooth so he can link his phone. The Pioneer DEH-P7000BT looks nice and Crutchfield has it for $289. I'm just wondering what folks think of this unit. Is there anything better in this price range? Crutchfield also is advertising a special purchase Blaupunkt unit called the Hamburg MP57 for only $199, marked down from $299.99. You have to pay an extra $20 for an iPod connection with this unit.

I like alpine too but the problem with them is they need to start integrating things like bluetooth INTO the unit. I was going to suggest the iDA-X100 but after you add the BT module it's just too expensive.

I would recommend against the Blaupunkt. I bought one a couple of years ago for my BMW (from Crutchfield) but switched it out after a few months for an Alpine because the sound quality was so poor.

go to Pioneers website and take a look , I beat Crutchfield's price for Bill . I can do the same for you .

You should listen to a few as everyone's ear is different . I prefer Pioneer as it is a warmer sound , I feel like Alpines can get harsh in the upper Freq range .

Scott,

Can you recommend a pair of front door speakers too?
