go to settings > add/remove software and then select and remove the HP software.
then, restart the PC with the printer cable unplugged. When you plug it in, windows will detect it and ask if it's OK to connect to the web to find the drivers if it doesnt already have them. Do it and you are all set.

imo a computer is like any other device, it needs to preventative and regular maintenace to keep things running well.
run spybot and malwares bytes and adware once a week and make sure they are updated. do a defrag and use windows disk cleanup to help keep things running smoothly. also blow out any dust buildup inside the case and make sure the computer is vented (heat kills electroncis)
