I had a lot of leaves, pine needles and dead grass to rake up. I'm only about 25% done. How is your lawn this spring? Dave, can you see your lawn yet?

No raking here. I lit a bunch of leaves on fire to get rid of them, though. they had collected in an area with no grass underneath. Found out that damp leaves take a while to burn

there are some leaves over the grass, but not much. I am thinking that the mower should take care of them with a pass over.

I want to put down the crab grass preventer and fertilizer so I want to get all the debris up first.

What I need to do ideally, is to rent a power rake and take up all the old stuff, put down a layer of fresh loam and start new. Not gonna happen this year though.

yah I didn't rake in the fall, so I have to deal with it now. I did about 25% a couple of weekends ago and lost motivation.

I have a husquavarna 145 which works really well.
it's a ton easier than raking pines needles.
it also does a good job of blowing the leaves out from under shrubs which are hard to get a rake on.

I raked last Saturday. I got maybe 25% of what I plan to rake done. I then rested my sore self. I spent yesterday cleaning out the debris and leaves all around the house. A little stiff today but I am actaully pleased with how I am feeling. I need to get back out there and do some more today.
The yard is in tough shape as it was mostly ignored last fall.
