i love it also. i pay about the same a month with directv and have a box in each room of the condo. i get speedvision without having to get a crazy package like comcast. i also get starz and encore.

Cable was $75 a month for me 2 years ago, less channels than what I have now,
1 receiver and no DVR. Can only imagine what the same package costs now 2
years later.

Directv TODAY is $64, more channels, 2 receivers AND DVR and the price hasn't
gone up in the 2 years I've had it.

I've added it up. The extra fees are what are giving me pause, I'd have DirecTV right now it it weren't for the added fees. I'm particularly interested in the deal they have now where you sign up for the NFL Sunday Ticket package and they give you their $75 programming package for free for 4 months. On the surface that deal seems great, I get just about every channel including movie channels and every football game for 4 months at $75 a month. After that, I'd just drop my service to a cheaper plan. If you want HD, you pay more though. They charge another $10 a month for HD. On top of that... if you want the football games in HD, you pay another $100 for some superfan package or something. So I'm looking at $85 a month for 4 months and another $100 on top of that to get it how I'd like it.
careful on the deals as most times they also lock you into like a two year contract and you just can't drop stuff

i'm really happy with the comcast deal i got

150.00 hd/dvr/all channels inc hbo stars and show time / phone and net

check fatwallet for any type of tv deals as most times they will show you how to get the BEST deal on what you want

The $75 a month plan they, "give" you for 4 months for buying Sunday Ticket comes with HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Showtime, and the Sports Pack. It's the $10 extra a month for HD and the added $100 one time payment for HD football games that bothers me.

From what I can tell, you can drop your plan to a lower one with no problem. If you take their HD DVR, they hook you in for 2 years.

Entry level package is called Basic Cable for $15 a month. It gives you about 10 channels.

The next level is digital cable which is what I have and get my HD channels from.

I don't have AAA.
Buy one, they pay for themselves over and over again. My car insurance discount for being an AAA member is greater than the cost of ownership. Each time I stay at a hotel, I save $10 per night minimum.
