I winged it. Took black duct tape taped up the whole. Took it to another shop and they passed me. Had to pay another 30 tho.

You didn't get all the rust or didn't properly seal the metal from the weather if it started up again that fast! Scary how those tumors grow so quickly!

If you go to home depot you can buy some really thin flashing made of aluminum. It is easy to cut and drill for the pop rivits and will not rust. Of course, the body panel that is already rusted will continue to rust....

So it'll look like the rear quarter panels of every Honda civic & integra from the 90's. I ground out all the rust, primed it, painted and then pretty much every year more metal would go bad further up and bubble the paint. After like 5-6 years I found myself re-creating an entire 3-4" section from vinyl mesh and bondo. In retrospect I probably should have used a good sealer or rust inhibitor. On the flip side, I got pretty good at mixing up and sanding body filler.

Kenta, It can be fun to play with bondo. It is the paint that can be a pain to match.
