Default fastlane

so now that you don't have to pay to have one, has anybody taken advantage of the new free fastlane transponders from the pike?

I got another 3, so now I have one in each car rather than having to move it.
don't have to worry about forgetting it now.

Are they free for just mass residents?

Where do you apply for one?

I already had EZ-Pass, but I saw the signs this weekend. EZ-Pass works from Washington DC all the way into New Hampshire, so I don't mind the fee, which I think is $1 a month.

I got a couple E-ZPasses from the New York site.

There was no cost involved in acquiring the pass itself that way. When I did it, I think it was just a $20 deposit that is used for tolls. The E-ZPasses I got work just about anywhere I'd be willing to drive.

Didn't know they were now free. Good to know. I'll get some more then.

Jerry, they are free, but they charge your account a monthly fee, if I'm not mistaken. I just got some for my employer.

I still have the ones from NY and they work everywhere. No monthly fee, and the transponders were free.

When I got mine, there was a fee for the transponder but no monthly fee.
