Default FICO drop due to BOA.

OKAY, That's great, but why should my credit take a beating due to others f*ck up?

MyFico Score Watch: Your FICO® score decreased to 775 from 800 due to BOA reporting your Credit Card stolen.

BOA: Yep, we issued a new Credit Card to you due to a mass security compromise with one of the vendors. Which one? They will not disclose... so I guess as I fill up again today or tomorrow it just might be THAT store and I'll get hit again?

Anyone know how long it'll take for the score to go up in this instance? Also whatsup with it dropping anyways, bunch of bull crap if you ask me.

Damn, I just began building credit and been researching the best ways to build a credit score. That really f'in sucks. It shouldn't have been reported to the credit bureau to begin with.

It was not a vendor .. The f'n OWS group Anonymous publicly announced they hacked BOA customer info and released it. Think it would hurt BOA ... WRONG, it hurts its customers and small businesses .

I had the same issue last week with the shop card. 4-5 internet web companies charge stuff to my card, Most over seas. One was zerogray.com.

I have Peoples bank - so far so good, no issues for the last 6 years. Knock on wood.

http://www.bankrate.com/finance/cred...-my-score.aspx

It looks like if you contact bofa and make sure they update the info that the new card is associated with the old account and list it as lost or stolen it won't affect your score. I would also write to the three credit agencies, stating the new cc is associated with the old cc.

Congrats on getting up to 800 in the first place for starters lol.

If your not currently looking for credit/loans, i wouldn't worry about it. It'll come back up if you keep up what your doing. No sense in fighting a huge battle over a "number" that isn't doing you any good at the moment.

I currently have multiple collections and fraudulent charges on my credit score and my number is very, very low. I dont stress over it because i don't plan on looking for credit anytime soon, so by the time i'm ready, all my credit woes should be resolved by then.
