Default Finally a new desktop

For those of you who know me, you know I am still using a desktop from the ancient time when dinosaurs still ruled the world.

My beloved Presario 5838 (12gb harddrive with 384mb of RAM) will be replaced by a new Dell Inspiron 5something (640gb with 4gb of RAM).

It is not anything fancy, we went with the most basic one with the lowest possible price knowing that we will not use 1/10th of its capability like ever.

It comes with the Vista home premium O/S.

That means there is going to be a steeeeep learning curve for me.

Knowing that Window 7 is will replace this "controversial" Vista O/S, I predict much of my learning of this O/S will be a waste of time.

If only I could have bought a computer with the XP, it would be much easier.

I am really looking forward to use the new computer as my old one is slow as a snail.

Thomas is the order complete?

I bought a Dell that Erick recommended a while back and I had the option to stick with XP vs. Vista. It might have been a few $ more, but I thought it was worth it.

FTR, I've been very happy with my Dell.

I'm very annoyed at dell actually.
If you ever want to modify your machine they make it extremely difficult by doing non-standard crap.
example: although my PC has a DVD drive, you can't boot from it.
