Default Firworks in CT

Anyone know of good fireworks in Connecticut (or Westchester Co. NY) other than on the 4th and other than New London (which is the 14th this year)?

Well you JUST missed NEW Milford last night. Tonight is Milford's show at the post mall.

http://www.telstarfireworks.com/events.htm I work for these guys at some shows not all.

Monday is a show in Vernon CT, the 3rd is Stratford CT(I plan to work that show), 4th is Fairfield CT, Deep River CT, New Britain CT(I will be here).

Then there is Wallingford CT on the 7th. Newington CT on the 21st. and Old Lyme on the 28th.(plan on being at that one)

I hear New London is amazing. They probably fire off a TON of big stuff 8-10" and maybe even 12's if they can ship them.

12" shells are now class A explosive which equals virtually IMPOSSIBLE to transport.

Enjoy have fun go watch don't shoot off the big illegal stuff at your house you DON'T have the correct equipment or training! You can kill yourself or others doing it. [getsoffsoapbox]

Stay safe and enjoy.

New London is outrageous! Computerized and a lot of stuff you don't see anywhere else except NYC or someplace like that, and this might even be better than NYC in terms of length and content; NYC is just bigger in width. How're the shows in Vernon, Stratford and Wallingford?

Vernon is at the top of a mountain! There is a park there I think too. I was only there once. Stratford is at "THE DUMP" from what I am told. I haven't gotten directions yet......my first year there. Wallingford is right next to and behind the firehouse. It's up on a big field and slightly over the top of the hill.

I don't really have addresses but if you know the area or go there ahead of time I am sure you can find it out.

Thanks. How'd you get the job? It's something I've always wanted to do.

Stratford is always at Short Beach. They shot them from the dump which is adjacent to the beach and it's no longer a dump.

The thing that sucks about Stratford is there are only two roads that take you to the beach. So be prepared to sit in traffic for a good hour or two. I lived a few block away from the beach so I used to jump on bikes and that was much better.

I'm no firework specialist but they always had good fireworks. I haven't seen them in a few years though.

You get on the team. I knew a guy that got into it and he dragged me in.

For us it's all volunteer and it's more fun and relaxed. Yeah we work our butts off but if we want to take a break we can and nobody is gonna yell at us because we are getting paid for sitting around.

So in all it's a great job it's fun and a lot of work but it's more of a family.

If your really serious I can try to get you to a show with me and get you introduced to it if you like.

HAHAHA!!! No we don't run.....but if you see us running HAUL A$$!

You just need to have a clear background(ATF background check). Are a responsible person, reliable if you say you will be there your there. And willing to work for no pay just food. Then your good!

And your willingness to learn and follow directions and ask questions when you don't know what's going on.
