Default Foreign CC Purchase Refund?

So I got a packet in the mail from the US District Court out of Philadelphia.

They are offering me a refund of a percentage of money spent on a Visa or Mastercard outside of the US between 1996 and 2006. I've yet to dig deep into this, just curious what it's all about.

Anyone else get one?

** Here was my trip to Canada back in 2002 Apparently they are paying me for my skills.

Here is the website the document references: http://www.ccfsettlement.com/

I guess this has something to do with the fees foreign companies were charging, or didn't charge?

It seems legit. Hell they aren't asking for any information for me and they already have my address. All I have to do is check a box indicating which level of refund I want and they cut a check.

I don't see where it could be a scam?

I got one of these yesterday too. I went back packing through Europe after I graduated college in '98 (I know VERY cliche ). So, I guess that's why I qualify.

I don't have any pictures to share of my trip though. I don't think digital cameras even existed then.

It is possible that they did not give you the correct monetary exchange rate on your charges made out of the US.

I got the packet too. They offer $25 with no documentation of overseas charges. The only thing I can remember is a set of S2000 floor mats from Muz, priced in AUD. $25 is $25.

Read the fine print about how much the lawyers and what the group that acted to initiate the class action are getting!
