Default Get ready for the flood!

Big rains are coming. Flood conditions are expected. Everyone please prepare and take care. Now that we have trimmed the roster, we can't afford to lose any more members.

Its going to be real bad up my way, this is the most recent floodforecast for me

A DEEP AND MOISTURE FILLED SNOWPACK AS WELL AS ABOVE NORMAL
RESERVOIR LEVELS AND HIGH SOIL MOISTURE INDICATES THAT ABOVE NORMAL
FLOOD POTENTIAL IS WARRANTED. WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL HAVE TO BE
MONITORED CLOSELY OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS AS A PROLONGED WARM SPELL
ALONG WITH HEAVY RAIN ON THE DEEP SNOWPACK COULD CAUSE SERIOUS
FLOODING.

Bill - you sand bagging bastard J/K

i get water in the basement once every five years or so - i was thinking of putting some sand bags around the new furnace

any thoughts about what to do with the septic? - should i keep a sump pump in there or something

Why do you need a pump in the septic Steve?

A sump pump for the septic? I know if folks have questionable/tired septic systems and your washing machine goes to your septic system, doing laundry during flooding rains is asking for trouble.

We had a few serious rains which resulted in water in our basement, just a couple times over twenty years. One year we had a LOT of rain in a short time frame. We had maybe 2" of water in some areas, maybe more. That was it. We had a sump pump put in the basement. Best $ ever spent. It rarely goes on, but it's sure better than mopping up a basement, only to have more water coming up.
