The grinch is going to be here soon..
I am honorary Grandma to my granddaughter's cousin. I TRIED to buy the kid something for Christmas tonight. She's 6.
What junk is out there!
This kid probably needs nothing, and I can assure you I'm not spending $24.99 for a junky looking T shirt because it's got the latest "fad"stuff on it. I went from store to store, nothing looked right. Too big, too small, too poorly made. To top it off I'm sure this kid needs NOTHING.
She won't mind a gift certificate will she?

then again knowing how well George plans for the future i wouldn't be surprised if he got a few to give as gifts (you know since Mr. Obama was elected and all)

We have to buy for Jim's nieces. Mind you, we only see these kids once a year - I couldn't pick them out of a line-up if it was necessary. It's always a challenge to find stuff for them and believe me - these kids have everything.
I refuse to buy them clothes because I do not believe in high-end clothing for children and that's all their mother buys them. I hesitate to give them gift cards to a store they can pick stuff out at because that was done one year and the mom turned her nose up at it. So looks like we might be hitting up Michael's for artsy-craftsy type things for them - same as the last couple of years.
