Default Hardwire this Sirius receiver

anyone know if you can hardwire this thing?

its a sirius portable receiver that uses the FM. I'd like to hardwire it so one less wire

just cut the cigarette adaptor and then put a fuse in between and and wire it up?

yup that would work - or you could just get a lighter socket for radio shack and wire that up then plug the unit in -

how do you plan to feed the sound though your system? fm modulator (wiress or wired) or aux set up via Honda Pie plug??

fm modulator... its a portable unit so I can get the home kit and use it there plus on the other cars.

wired FM mod is a lot better then wireless BUT a honda pie is a lot better than both and i think it's only like 50 bucks or so...

You get the parts I will help you install. Basically a TESTER will tell you what is hot and what is NOT.

the very center part of the cig lighter adaptor is always hot and the side is always ground so when you open it up just see what wire is connected to what part

ahh cool... now all i need is a warm sunny day so i can run the wiring..


btw - Sirius is nice... the sound quality is better than what i was getting from the radio. but the radio reception was horrible so...
