Default HD ROCKS!

Finally got HD hooked up on my new TV in the theater room... I am impressed! I switched over to Dish Network and got their 942 HD-DVR receiver - seems to work pretty well. Now my only complaint is the lack of HD-channels (I only have 4 ) Anyone know when more channels will be going HD?

To get over the air HD you need to have a built in HD tuner, which most HD TVs dont have, they are HD Ready and use the HD cable box... You also need to be somewhat close to the source to get a good signal, and you need an ugly antennea on ur house.

When I first saw a football game in HD I was blown away.....welcome!

My cable provider has about 7-8 HD channels. But not CBS in HD.....where the Pats games are.

I wish CBS would get off their ass and start broadcasting their games in HD. Of course I get all the home games in the best format, LIVE!

ANyway sports in HD look amazing. NESN does the Sox games in HD and looks great. FOX and MNF are HD too.

When I 1st got HD I had HBO and the Discovery channel in HD, was all there was but I would watch Disc a lot just taking in the picture.

For HD I get HBO, Showtime, ABC, NBC, NESN, ESPN, Disc, and one or 2 others I cant think of ATM. Of course that only matters when the show is also in HD.

I have noticed that - some shows look "good" and other shows look "incredible". They must be recorded/encoded at different rates. I watched one show of the Detroit Auto Show...it was really amazing to be able to see faces in the cafe across the street!

The other part I love is dolby 5:1 audio output.
football games are awesome.
The announcers voice stays in the center channel, yet the crowd is all around you.
although for one of the fox broadcast games last fall some moron in the back left channel kept talking throughout the game. The censors on tape delay weren't listening either.

CBS does broadcast in HD, at least two NFL games a week.
