Default Headlight tint

Having just read dan's post about hairline cracks in his headlights reminded me about the static cling i used to have. At some point there was a template for the headlights, i was wondering who's got it. It looked great and i imagine it would protect to some extent. If there are any other templates floating around, rear window, windscreen, whatever. I'd be interested in those as well.

Thank You
Mike

What happened to them? A while back i made up one headlight but it was a little shoddy. There was a template floating around.. What was the issue, i'm a little disappointed. But yet, wouldn't mind doing my taillights either.. Any template for those?

Mike the reason Dan's lights cracked was because of the tint - he never used anything on his lights before and now they are bad -

i would do everything EXCEPT for the headlights

Do we know what it was about the tint that made them crazy like that?

I have the templates,

But you are honestly better off doing it yourself. The templates are not perfect.

BUT... I don't even recommend putting them on.

My theory about the crazing... different expansion and contration properties of the two materials (tint and plastic on headlights) caused the crazing. ONLY A THEORY. As I have gone through two sets of headlights that have crazed. The first one was from having Stonegaurd on the headlights. The second set was the same reason, but I was the second owner of them, and I removed the stoneguard the first sign of crazing to stop it spreading more. Dan and Pinky both had tint on their headlights, and I believe both have major crazing.

Just my two cents.

Tail lights are nice to tint. But don't. I don't want this becoming a fad or anything. Everybody asks me about mine and I want to stay original.
