Ok, so my brother just called and informed me his car was broken into and trashed. He now needs a new headunit. So I'm wondering if anyone has a used headunit lying around they could part with? He had a middle of the road Alpine and I am looking to find him somthing. I'm hoping for under $100. Yes, I'll be checking ebay, just sceptical since I've heard people talking about buying nonworking headunits.

 

Do you know what he's looking for in term of specs? Does he have an amp? How many pre-amp outs does he need? What about a sub channel or MP3?

There are some HUs on sale at crutchfield for around $100.00 that might do the job for a simple setup.

For the price range you are shopping in ,this Alpine is the best bang for the buck .

For a few extra bucks he could step up into the CDE-9845

 

thanks, I'll be informing him of his options. No amp, just the headunit running four speakers, nothing special. He's on a pretty tight budget due to him not wanting to file an insurance claim due to previous incidents, his rates would sky rocket and the funny thing is none were his fault, just bad luck.
