Default Help Getting an S

So I've been given the OK (from the lady friend) to get an S2000. I'm wondering if you guys can help me out?? I'm looking for a used S in the teens. Trying the stay away from Red and yellow though. I've been shopping around and have seen some in this price range, but they're mostly in Texas or Cali, not quite CT and I would like to see the car first. I also want a clean title. The one catch is I have a 2k1 civic that I should at least get 10k for from dealer. I need to get rid of it, while getting the S (trade in). I figure that this should be a good time to pick one up before winter and all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

It sounds like you need to do business with a dealer. Do you want to buy outside of Connecticut? If so, I'll keep an eye open in the Boston area.

Have you looked into the Bargain News?
Go to www.bargainnews.com I have yet to see a good S in the teens but there is one advertising in the bargain news - usually see them for low 20s.

$14,999, BLACK, 25,979 mi, 4 cyl, ABS, air, CD, pb, ps, pw, 6 Speed Standard, Dual Front Air Bags, VIN:JHMAP1147YT006992, Stock No:41729A, Quality pre-owned vehicles at Discounted prices. Please contact Mike Gauvin, Internet Sales Manager, at Papa's Dodge for prices and availability. 860-225-8751

As Bill stated if you want the to go the trade-in route you will most likely have to go through a dealer.

Good luck

Like George has stated, ive yet to see a S2000 in the teens also. The lowest price ive seen around here is $21,500. But i havent been looking either since im done looking and have found my S. i would suggest Autotrader.com as thats where i found mine for sale. It has a good search engine too. By the way, i see youre from west-hartford too ? Do you go into the center often ?

Good luck... Try to sell your car first. You can post it on www.craigslist.org for free. It's hard for a car dealer to put a deal together when you are taking from both sides. Money in the hand is worth much more than the value you think your Civic has.

Don't be afraid of going beyond New England for an S2K. If the pictures are good, and the title is clean, there

If you are still interested, I there is a used S2000 for sale at my local Honda Dealer in Buffalo, NY. I think its an 01, I actually stopped by to take a look at it this past Sunday. It is yellow but the car is very clean. Don't know the milage on it but its a sharp looking car.

That ad you quoted Paivag was a misprint. My son called on it and they told him it should have read $22k.

i've been keeping an eye out too, probably won't pull the trigger this year though. there's an s that's been in the boston globe the last few weeks--started at 20 and has since dropped to 18.9k. i believe it's the same car that i found on cars.com--enter honda s2000 and put in 100 miles within zip 01930 (my zip code). it's the one being sold by patrick volkswagon. as i recall from the paper it's got 30 something thousand miles and is silver and red.
on a related note, i bought my first s in the dead of a new england winter and got an excellent deal. dealers are willing to deal from now until pre-spring i believe, as they're faced with the prospect of not too many takers. good luck.

GL S2K- ya thanks that's what I thought too. I have a guy in CT at Hoffman who is looking around for me, but it sounds like I'm on a list there. So I'm not really counting on him. Ya I called on that ad too in New Britain they said $21k. Too much for that car.

VTEC4ME- If you could find out the price and/ or a tele # that would be a big help.

The best I've seen was a black 00' go for 17k from Wallingford, CT with 34k miles. I just missed out on buying it by a day.

Hey guys I really appreciate all your help. Thanks and I guess I'll keep looking.

Damn, $17 for a 00 S ? Thats pretty darn cheap. Although the car has a bit more miles, if you can swing it i would go to Papas and try to talk them down. $21 with only 26,000miles is still a good deal. say if you get it for 19 or 19.5, still a good deal. You'd be getting it for under the book value of $20,355
