Hey BEN!!!
well i usually hand wash, but its been about 60 degrees lower then usual so i'd really rather not. And the thought of winters harm on my chassis is putting me to tears. I would NEVER use a touchless unless my car was somewhat clean and had a hardtop. the thought of sand and dirt being sandblasted on my nice red paint.. well im sure you know how that sounds
The Owners Manual clearly states not to take this car through a car wash.
Take a look in the Electronics Forum... one guy did... and now his speakers are a little messed up. Surprisingly one of our local guys here that I haven't heard from in awhile said that it is fine in that thread... but... why take the chance. It's cold out... everything contracts... so you will not get the best seal with your top and windows... water may come in... and if it doesn't... you might be lucky.
What I have done in the past was... take a bucket, sponge and car wash fluid to one of those pull in bays... and wash my car by hand. Just be careful not to use that high pressure water gun at the seams of your windows. And please don't use that brush on the paint... using it on the wheels is fine... but please not on the paint.
Yes your hands will freeze... yes it is cold... but to help with that... I got some dishwashing gloves to put over some winter gloves... neurotic? Yes... But did it take the salt and dirt off the car? Yup... and that high pressure spray underneath the car and wheel wells works pretty good.
Just my two cents
