here is some guy that posted his install. its nuts! and the roof is made of steel not aluminum.

That IS nuts. Nice job in the install. Got to give props to those who go this far to save weight.

He couldve just bought a M3-CSL, which is esentially a lightweight race-ready M3 from the factory that has carbon fibre roof, hood and trunk. Also has foglight delete and nice BBS wheels. Wouldve saved him alot of work !!!

can't buy a M3-CSL in the US. that's limited to europe, even getting CSL parts in the US via Europe is nearly impossible

the weight savings is about 33 lbs that's assuming you are replacing a roof with the sunroof with the cf WITHOUT the sunroof.

its not bad considering you are lowering your center of gravity

Looks like the weight saving is 47# in his case




Of course, you can save the $1,000 moonroof option plus thousands for the whole CF roof thing and just be 12# heavier.

Yes im aware of that. But he IS in europe isnt he? Just look at those licence plates on those cars in the background
