Default hey Bill / Jeff

what are you guys voting on question 3

Question 3 would lower the state sales tax rate from 6.25 to 3 percent. The tax rate had been 5 percent until lawmakers approved the hike last year. Gov. Deval Patrick signed the measure.

The problem with cutting tax is no income and I think things like cops fire schools roads and hospitals will take the cuts. For some reason I don't see things like food stamps, unemployment, and other things would. Granted there is ppl that need thouse things but there is also a lot of abuse on those systems and I highly doubt most cops/firemen really abuse the system

it's a fear tactic they will say we'll lose police and fire BUT my real estate taxes pay most of that and the extra 3.5% in my pocket will be spent - so it should help create jobs

I disagree I believe most of the money goes into a mutal spot weather it be income real estate or sales tax and is then divided out from there I think as a lot of ppl are on unemployment and food stamps that government officials wont cut those programs as they need the masses to get re-elected yet thouse are prob the two most abused systems in this state. So the money will be cut somewhere also bass how much money do u believe u personally will save ? All food and most common needed products are tax free. The highest taxed items as cigs booze and gas won't be affected they are taxed differently. Its mostly clothing and electronics u will save on. How often do u buy them ?

clothing is tax free as well in mass (as long as the item is under 175.00 and i don't buy any clothes over 175 in retail stores)

cat / dog food is taxed at 6.5% - every time i got to walmart it's taxed at 6.5%, everytime i go to the local chainsaw place it's taxed at 6.5% and yup my smokes are taxed enormously and my Makers is taxed at 6.5%

maybe with a cut they will become more responsible and understand that they just can't keep raising taxes without any cuts

also the Feds have keep police, teachers and others at work with the stimulus (don't get me started on the unions)

mass needs to address the budget and stop running to the tax payers well

to quote Reagan - starve the beast
