Edit: I hope the numbers are off because they are claiming 250hp at only 7000 rpm. I hope Honda doesn't abandon the high revving nature that makes the current S so enjoyable...

Priced against Toyota's upcoming Supra? I guess it'll be out of my price-range.

You just need to work on the 8 year car payment plan like I am! Lease it for 3 years to get the low monthly payment, then finance for 5 years after that

(Yes I AM crazy, thanks for asking!)

250hp wouldn't be bad if it weighs in < 2200lbs. Thats would me more than enough. We will see.

I have a feeling the curb weight is going to go up before it drops, although a 2200lb mark would be nice. But with the supposed disappointing sales of the current model, Honda has stated that they will make the corrections the next go around.

What does that mean for us? More luxury touches, more safety hardware and most likely the option of a slushbox... I'd place money on the table that the next S2000 will be around 3100lbs... a 300 lb increase.

OK. I really don't understand why when everyone always talks about the future of the S2000 I always see a when someone mentions an optional automatic transmission. You don't want an automatic then fine it's optional . . . don't get it. If it means better sales for the S2000 so that the S2000 can continue on then I don't understand what the big deal is.

I wish Honda would push the max RPM even higher than it has. The high revving really set the S2000 apart. Imagine 12K redline? No has that...

Good point! I guess I'd rather see an optional auto offered than see the S2K go away Sales really ARE down alot this year. We can be snobs about automatics once they actually start building them

I just read that on my R&T last night. They better do a lot better than 250 HP in '09 if they want this car to sell at all. R&T is often off on predicting future cars though...

Mickey, maybe it's because some (Rick included) generally believe a TRUE sportscar HAS to have a manual transmission. They "pollute the waters" with the automatic. That might just make it a "chick car."
