Hotel connection, Saco/Biddeford area?
We may need a hotel room August 18th in Maine.
We'll be Saco/Biddeford area, actually a bit north for a family gathering.
Any lines on a cheap hotel? Not the roach motel, of course.
I've never used Hotels.com...maybe I should give it a try?

Thanks, Mike. I'm not all that excited about attending this event, so I keep dragging my feet as far as a hotel. I know I should not wait too much longer to decide. Not sure the event is worth the trouble of packing up (bring your own food type of thing), the drive and the expense of the hotel.....
Personally I would go the bed and breakfast route. Your traveling in prime tourist time so all are going to be at a premium. Most hotels in that area which would be S. Portland are going to be close to $200 nightly.

Lainey, if you are in the Biddeford/Saco area try staying at Old Orchard Beach. I don't know what the rates are but you can always try price line and check it out. My sister and her husband stay at a motel there every summer and love it. When we lived in Maine as youngsters, Bob and I spent a lot of evenings hanging out there and taking 'walks' on the beach in the evening

I stayed at the Extended Stay in Scarborough, ME (probably 10 minutes north of where you want to be) and it wasn't bad. Wasn't anything special, but my only compliant was really the old tube TV. No breakfast, but I did have a mini kitchen I didn't use. Price is about $120. I actually got my room for free because I knew the manager. Unfortunately bad timing... because he JUST (like 2-3 weeks) quit his job and moved back to NH.

AND, I can cancel with 48 hours notice. I like that option.
