Default how do I cut my cable bill?

right now i'm paying $78 bucks just for extended cable with HD and DVR. Any ideas on how to cut this down without having to give any of it up???

I <3 my TV so giving it up is not an option and I can't give up HD or DVR either.

give up the HD and use Netflix HD through the xbox 360

i'm paying an extra 8-10 dollars a month for cinemax hd channels... rather use that 8-10 towards the netflix on the xbox 360

the tv without the dvr in the living room has a built in hd receiver so it picks up hd channels without using the dvr box.

does the $78 include cable internet as well?

Hey JT - with scissors of course. Tis the season - perhaps you could cut it into snowflakes!

Do you have Fios in your area? We went with Fios - cable HD DVR, internet and phone are about $120 approx. a month. We saved about $30 - 40 when we went with FIOS over what we were paying separately.

Yup I am on drugs and I'm enjoying them quite a bit!

I'm not sure quite how many we get - I think they are slowly adding more and more as more towns in our area are wired.

All I know is that I get HD channels and they do contain the shows I need.

Well if money is tight why continue with HD and DVR? IMO its more of a want than need. Heck Cable is more a want than a need.

I would call up the cable co and bitch that you are unhappy with their service and want to cancel. They might give you a promo for a year or some teaser rate to stay on a for a bit.

Cable people are thieves. We're up to 57.00/month for extended. No DVR, no HBO, nothing. I was checking into bundling it, but then the phone company gave me a discount on my internet and long distance, so I didn't bother. Didn't feel like changing over email, etc. I'll have to deal with it all again in May when my Verizon discounts are done.

JT are you looking to cut expenses, or just tired of giving them your $?
