...by a freak'n raccoon.I was driving up north on I93 Saturday night heading home when the silly thing ran out and into the side of my car. I saw it at the last second and moved as far left as possible. It hit the car just behind the passenger door so I finally got my first scratch and small dent.
My wife did not know what was going on and screemed when she heard the thud and the car lift up when it went under my rear tire. God what a mess; when I looked at the car for the second time I hadn't realized the amount of blood, guts, and hair in the wheel well.
I am damn glad I did not hit the thing with my front end, that would have caused some big time damage. This raccoon was huge, I had to stop and make sure it did not have antlers.
Sorry to read about the accident. Glad you quickly maneuvered your car to avoid potential bigger damages.

I don't think Glenn wants to start collecting raccoons for the races, he has enough trouble getting cones.
I still need to come out and show my support for our beloved cars.

Rowland,
This brings back memories of when I hit a raccoon head on last year, probably the brother of the one you hit cause it too was huge. I had over 1,000 in damages, if I recall, had to get a new bumper, engine cover, grill, a/c condenser was bent, etc. Luckily, I had installed Dennis' front grill and I think that saved my radiator from becoming toast too. Important thing is that you and your wife didnt get hurt though.

Rowland,
Glad to hear that you and your wife are ok. It is strange that this has happened to two white s2k's... I wonder if Raccons can't see white!

And I am also glad that the raccon did not hit the front of the car... I saw the damage to Dana's car shortly after his incident happened... and it wasn't pretty... but he was lucky he had a grill gaurd on his car... the damage would have been A LOT more... the grill guard definitly saved his radiator from damage.
But anyways... glad that you and your wife are ok... and your baby will be fixed just as new soon
